NAHSS students visit global technological innovator Lenovo
On July 28, 30 Dutch students of the Netherlands Asia Honours Summer School (NAHSS) paid a visit to Lenovo in Beijing. During this visit, the NAHSS students, who come from all Dutch universities and a wide range of academic disciplines, have learned about the incredible developments Lenovo has made during the past decades, and the rapid developments it is making today. Founded just over 20 years ago, Lenovo has grown from being a company with just a handful employees in a small room, to the second largest company on the global PC market. Lenovo as it is today, can be described as a place where innovation and globalization meet. With its innovative technologies, Lenovo reaches out to all different parts of the world.
During their visit, the NAHSS students had the opportunity to experience Lenovo’s innovative technologies first hand. Having the chance to see and also use all different kinds of new Lenovo devices, such as products from the new Yoga series, caused quite some amazement among the students. It was valuable for the Dutch students to really experience how rapid the technological innovation in China can be, and especially so at Lenovo. For Lenovo, being visited by the NAHSS students was a beneficial opportunity to reach out to an interdisciplinary group of ambitious students that might aspire to work for, or corporate with Lenovo, in their future careers. The connection between Lenovo and the NAHSS, which fosters contact between the multinational Lenovo and the internationally oriented NAHSS students, is thus a beneficial one that will certainly pay off in the years to come.
